28.10.08| LANDWEHR banks on Security – not only with Software, but also with Health!
The Software Company LANDWEHR is not only successful in the line of creating industry-specific software, but also when it comes to the health of our currently 120 employees. To be well–prepared for probable cases of emergency in the company’s buildings in Wietmarschen-Lohne, the company has recently purchased an automated external defibrillator (AED). This device allows quick cardiopulmonary resuscitation, in order to prevent sudden cardiac death.
Every day, 350 people in Germany die of the sudden cardiac death. Currently, only
2-4 % survive. Tomorrow, this number could increase to 75 %. It can hit everyone. At any time. Any place. The only approved rescue methods are quick cardiopulmonary resuscitation and early electroconvulsive therapy. In cases of emergency, both actions must be taken within 3-5 minutes, also by medical laypersons. This is the only way to save more peoples’ lives than it is currently the case.
To allow for this in LANDWEHR’s buildings, an AED has been made available in conjunction with a professionally equipped first-aid kit. All employees were offered training for using the AED and applying first aid in order to increase the employees’ and guests’ security on the premises. The AED’s usage and cardiopulmonary resuscitation were introduced by professionals. More than half of LANDWEHR’s employees attended the course, hence we are well-prepared for probable cases of emergency in Lohne. Thus, customers attending courses at LANDWEHR cannot only feel secure with choosing the appropriate software, by also in terms of first aid alongside the courses and seminars.
