15.07.08| AMP Celebrates “Temporary Employment Festival” in Berlin!

With the ‘largest festival of the temporary employment industry’ the Arbeitgeberverband mittelständischer Personaldienstleister e.V. (AMP, Employers’ Association of Medium-Sized Temporary Employment Agencies) held their annual convention on 26. June in Berlin. Numerous guest from economy, politics and media met in the Maritim Hotel to enjoy a varied programme. The participants were provided with interesting presentations. In the conference centre’s lounge, the service providers of the industry were given the occasion to promote their products. The LANDWEHR team was represented with an information stand and presented the latest developments concerning the proven software LANDWEHR L1 for temporary employment. Intense converstions with customers and prospects arose at the stand during the day.

During the members convention in the morning, the AMP member companies were among themselves. In the afternoon, some guests joined the public presentations, so that finally about 500 persons were present. Free Democratic Party Chairman Guido Westerwelle appeared as keynote speaker. In a brilliant, almost one-hour speech he criticised the grand coalition’s policy. Moreover, Westerwelle gave encouragement to the attending manpower suppliers by acknowledging the industry’s success and clearly dismissing criticism against temporary employment.

The temporary employment agencies gained further support by Raimund Becker, board of the Bundesanstalt für Arbeit (BA, Federal Labour Office). In his speech, he appreciated the agreements to co-operation between the BA and the manpower suppliers and particularly stated that temporary employment made a major contribution to the reduction of unemployment.

The presentations were rounded off by the speech of Anton F. Börner, President of the Federal Union of German Wholesale and Foreign Trade (Bundesverband des Deutschen Groß- und Außenhandels). The visitors then had another occasion to inform themselves at the information stands provided by the exhibitors in the lounge. The annual convention of the AMP was concluded with a summer party in the regional representation office in Bremen. The guests celebrated with lively conversations until late at night.

Up-to-date information was given to the visitors at the LANDWEHR information stand during the AMP Annual Convention.
