11.09.08| 1. iGZ North Convention in Bremen Enjoyed Great Attendance!

On 02nd September, about 300 guests met at the first North Convention of the "Interessenverband Deutscher Zeitarbeitsunternehmen e.V." (iGZ, Union of German Temporary Employment Agencies) at the Maritim Hotel in Bremen (Germany). The iGZ offered their participants a large variety of events under the motto “Green Lights for Temporary Employment in the North”. During the breaks the the visitors had once more the occasion to find out about the industry’s service providers at the numerous information stands. The LANDWEHR L1 Team was also at the premises and provided information about the latest developments of the proven software solution, LANDWEHR L1 for temporary employment agency work.

The beginning of this first North Convention was hosted by Bettina Schiller, Federal Commissioner Bremen and member of the German Board of the iGZ. She presented an image of the industry, which particularly pointed out the great success of temporary employment during the last years and warned against discrediting. Interesting facts were provided afterwards by Michael Weber-Blank, specialist solicitor (tax law) and Andrea-Brück-Klingenberg from ‘Institut für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung der Agentur für Arbeit’ (Institute for Labour Market and Employment Research of the German Employment Agency). The presentation of an Emnid survey carried out for the iGZ (subject: “The Temporary Employment Industry in the Mirror of its Clientele”), provided by Klaus-Peter Schöppner, Managing Director TNS Emnid, brought an interesting insight.

The breaks between the convention’s program points were used by all participants to gather information about new ideas and issues at the individual stands. The LANDWEHR stand was well-visited. Numerous, intense conversations took place and new contacts were made. As the highlight of the day, the General Secretary of the FDP (Free Democratic Party), Dirk Niebel, gave a lecture. He furthermore took part in the final panel discussion about the issue “Green Lights for Temporary Employment in the North”. The discussion was joined by State Council Member Dr. Joachim Schuster, Hans-Uwe Stern (Chairman of the Board of the Employment Agency Bremen), Solicitor Cornelius Neumann-Redlin (Managing Director of the Business Associations in Bremen), Joachim Dunenkamp (employee at Kammer Bremen), Jörg Weigand (IG-Metall Board Frankfurt) and iGZ German Board Member Bettina Schiller. Altogether, it was a successful event, which will surely be continued next year.

Tight squeeze at the LANDWEHR information stand during the convention.
